THE MAN BEHIND THE STORY
Our Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Dr Hassan Waqas Rana. The core of our stories and the ability to understand the cultural impact and language, which can create a film that can thrill and excite audiences.
VALUED EXPERIENCE BROUGHT ON BOARD
The team is bolstered by the likes of Mrs. Shazia Sikandar who has a stellar 36 year career not only in broadcast management but also in television productions as well. Mrs. Shazia Sikander is solely responsible for bringing in Turkish Dramas such as “ERTUGRUL” to Pakistan. She also has tremendous experience dubbing international Projects into Urdu for broadcasting.
OUR STORY
Formed in the year 2008 for the sole ambition to put the Pakistan Film Industry on the world
map. To dare and dream the impossible when there was no hope for the future. Pakistan
Film Industry was all but finished, cinemas were being converted into shopping malls, and
the barbarians of the real estate ilk were at the gates of the few film studios which were
taking their last breaths. A film industry which once produced legends were now reduced to
producing third rate films which seldom survived a weekend.
At such times of desperation, we dared to do the impossible and make a film in Pakistan
which would cost more to make than the worth of the entire industry at the time. The
daring team of Mind Works Media under the Stewardship of Dr. Hassan Waqas Rana
created a cinematic phenomenon called “WAAR” (2013). A film which not only broke all the
box office records of the country but also broke records internationally.
The Second Project of Mind Works Media was even more ambitious then the first one, the
bar was set even higher. Now the team of Mind Works Media embarked on the journey of
making “War Epic” a genre of film which was never attempted before in the region.
“YALGHAAR” (2017) was the biggest production in the history of Pakistani Cinema. With its
ensemble cast which featured Legends such as “SHAAN SHAHID”, “HUMANYUN SAEED”
and many more became the first War Epic of Pakistan. Like WAAR, YALGHAAR also became
a box office hit and made over 120m in its very first week at the cinema a record which was
never achieved by any other film till that time.
DIRECTOR DIARIES
We created this to highlight our journey creating Yalghaar (2017), which challenged us in all the right ways, where we worked with Special Effects and [ushed the limits, risking it all for the perfect shot.
Our StorySince Mind Works Media has become an international player with its offices now in DUBAI and the U.K and now Mind Works Media is the first production company which is working on its own Television Series for one of the largest OTT Platforms in the World.
